Should I Go to Bridal Extravaganza?
This week I’m preparing for my fourth Bridal Extravaganza and want to share a few things with those that planning to come this weekend and those that are still on the fence. In January of 2017 I went to my first Bridal Extravaganza. The minute I walked into Parmer Event Center my eyes popped. So. Many. Vendors. I remember thinking “I would be so overwhelmed if I was walking in here as a bride!” Know that there will be rows and rows of vendors: venues, photographers, DJs, bakeries, caterers, florists, photo booths, dress shops, rental companies. It is impossible to talk with everyone there, so here are some tips:
1. Bring a date: this is going to be so much more fun if you have someone with you. Bring a person that will help you enjoy and possibly make decisions. Don’t bring someone that stresses you out or is super indecisive. Make a day of it! You’ll enjoy yourself so much more. And there are yummy tastings around every corner, so tell your date to come hungry.
2. Know why you’re going: what are you looking for? Did you just get engaged and are looking for ideas? Do you have your venue and you’re ready to start reserving other things? Pick three items that you are going to research: venues, photographers, caterers would be an example. And then focus on those. Have a few questions you ask people.
3. Be ready to book: all of the vendors are going to have their best discounts of the year at these shows. The prices won’t get lower. It won’t get easier to lock in your date. So if you see something you love, go for it! If you need to go home and read reviews first, most vendors will honor discounts until the next couple of days but it’s not guaranteed.
Bonus tip: create a wedding email to give vendors so they don’t flood your inbox. The best companies are going to follow up so creating an email that you’ll use primarily for your wedding planning is extremely helpful.
At the end of the day the Bridal Extravaganza is an amazing event that has helped countless couples in planning their wedding. If you make it out, please stop by our booth with your friend and say hello! I’d love to meet you in person and hear all about your big day.
